OMG! I loved that story! My first girlfriend was at age 5, Terry C, who was a neighbor and we were on again, off again for 6 or 7 years! After that I, too, had the summer camp girl friends, though my camps were only a week long, but always the goodbyes, the letter writing for a time, then ... life goes on.
