Wow. First the ruminations on Love (and lack of Love) then Ewald, in self-defense, strikes another man, but tries to figure out how to get him to relative safety, itself an act of Love, then all the self-examination about causing harm to others, ..... Lots to think about here.
Yes, Ewald got deep into the complexity about suddenly having a person on his hands, him acting responsible for that tribesman even though he was an aggressor. There were a lot more issues than I realized, that came in after letting the writing flow find its way. Thanks again Steve, for being great reader of this book!
