THE 5TH WALL (89 min.) A sexy screwball comedy by Rick Schmidt & Willie Boy Walker, was produced by son Morgan Schmidt-Feng, myself, and star Willie Boy Walker. Maya, in trailer, is 'little girl' from movie-Willie's chosen successor in The 5th-wall––she’s now all grown up!
Both Willie and Maya can appear on your TV screen and talk directly to whoever is in the room (She does this with MR. DUMP). WILLIE has taught her how to use a special crystal (see scene in ‘5th Wall,’ at an ice cream shop, when he trains her in the usage!)
Neighbor girl, played by Maya Aguayo Schmidt-Feng, listens to Willie explaining how to use his magic crystal technology (see Trailer).
Michael Bolgatz (also appears in MAISY’S GARDEN) as a City Desk/boss, ordering reporter Rohana to get an interview with ‘Mr. Walker’ about his Nobel prize in Literature. (But he’s never written a book!)
Actor ROHANA KENIN ELIAS-REYES plays to perfection the part of the reporter sent to cover Willie Boy Walker and his Nobel Prize. Maya, age 8, answers ‘Mr. Walker’s’ questions about the 5th Wall, when questioned by reporter Rohanna.
Yahn Soon/John Balquist is visited by Willie in his TV sets. ©2001 FW Productions.
Yahn Soon (AKA John Balquist), veteran actor/writer/director of several Feature Workshops) plays a news cameraman, shooting the story of Mr. Walker, Nobel prize winner (Yahn’s life is radically changed by the encounter).
Willie’s movie wife is played by Carolyn Zaremba (above), lead actor of A MAN, A WOMAN, AND A KILLER, (SHOWBOAT) 1988-THE REMAKE, and EMERALD CITIES (see book about “the making of;” entitled, "Sleeper Trilogy-Three Undiscovered First Features by Rick Schmidt 1973-1983”).

"Thirty-five-plus years after his 1975 feature filmmaking debut, American Independent Rick Schmidt remains a free-wheeling derring-do filmmaker holding fast to the notion that people's real lives are more truly dramatic, hilarious, exciting and as exasperating as those manufactured by Hollywood's minions. Most everyone falls in and out of love, rejects and gets rejected, contends with failure and success, hatred, ambition, the death of loved ones...It's all there.
