I talk on ZOOM (watch my interview by Sujewa Ekanayake below) about my producing, shooting as co-director of A MAN, A WOMAN, AND A KILLER 16mm film in 1973 (co-directed w/then roommate Wayne Wang), comparing it with the $30 video shoot for BEAR DANCE (A FILM BY WILLIE BOY WALKER AND RICK SCHMIDT), videotaped with my 1-chip TRV10 SONY CAMCORDER in Portugal, at Figueira da Foz International Film Festival (2002). I’m holding the camera in photo below, with the mostly Portuguese actors in the movie, at a luncheon scene. Writer of fairytales and film critic Alfons Engelen of Belgium is at rear, with scarf and sunglasses, who tells his real-life story of crossing the Sahara desert with the Blue People (SEE TRAILER: <https://vimeo.com/ondemand/beardance/>).

The mix of everyday people, improvising scene after scene, telling their personal life stories, to punctuate the new story they're communally creating, is such a tribute to the Art of Real Life.
