SYNOPSIS
Thrown out of his crash pad after traveling the West Coast, a young man, David (played by yahn soon, veteran co-writer/co-director/actor on LONELINESS IS SOUL, MAISY'S GARDEN, CRASH MY FUNERAL, SUN AND MOON, THE FIFTH WALL, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE SHAWERMA ), hits the streets without money or direction. Fortunately, a little girl (Maya Aguayo Schmidt-Feng), points him to a rooftop where other homeless people have crashed. There he's mistaken for another "David" (the renter everyone in the building has been expecting) and suddenly lands a free apartment. One by one the strange tenants get introduced, including a beautiful, multi-tattooed masseuse who uses a forked "guava tree stick" for "treatments", and two crazed brothers who are Froot Loop junkies. An old girlfriend, played by Meeka Schmalle (LONELINESS IS SOUL, CRASH MY FUNERAL) appears on the scene, and tries to turn David's seemingly aimless life around.

Some of my favorite parts of Sun and Moon
The scene where yahn does his seduction thing with the blonde. It was like watching a training film. He is really smooth. He knows when to joke around, lay back for awhile, talk around things, when to play the little games, when to make a move, etc.. Of course, he gets revealed as the borderline predator that his character is. Excellent.
The blonde showing us her tattoos. Beautiful!! The tattoos AND the blonde, Meeka [sp?] and her philosophy about the limits of physical intimacy. :-) Plus, she was so mysterious and really put the question to yahn: Are you going to stay here and play out your anger about your father or are you going to join me in getting on with the adventure?]
The pot smoking scene, where the goofy brothers confess to spying. [Once again, yahn was perfect in playing someone getting high. Giggling and getting carried away. Great.]
All of the music. Really good music. The story about the rave and the silver purse. The big sign, which Dave leaves behind for the next Dave. All in all, a great collaboration. Great fun, some terrific acting.
What a great range of Real-Life Stories! I sure hope these players have continued to play during their lives. I know how much it's meant to me, how transformative it is, to help create something like "Sun and Moon," e.g. when we did "Chetzemoka's Curse" in PT. It changes everything!
